A healthy population of pollinators makes for a healthier garden and planet! Master Gardener JoAnne Newman will give you facts and tips on how to kick your garden up a notch by adding plants that pollinators just can’t resist!
Entomologist, apiculturist, and former Extension Agent Mickey Anderson will instruct us in beekeeping and show different types of equipment used by the beekeeper as well as different hive components. He will also talk about pollination, different castes, brood (young bee) development, comb building, guard duty, and foraging trips of bees. Lastly, he will discuss the importance of the variations in seasonal activities of honey bees.
Sometimes we face the dilemma of buying or building a new home while selling the old home with its well-loved garden. Since it’s not practical to dig up the entire yard, Master Gardener Kathy McLean developed a passion for propagating her favorite plants. Come hear about this journey that resulted in many successes and some failures.
Please note date change for this month’s Lunch & Learn! We will meet on THURSDAY, April 9.
Springtime is here! Let’s celebrate by creating a floral arrangement of bulbs and bunnies! Master Gardener Linda Baird will show us how to make beautiful seasonal flower arrangements.
