School Garden Requests
The Master Gardener (MG) Extension Volunteers are trained to provide support to teachers and school personnel in establishing and sustaining a school garden to use for horticultural and other youth education activities.
Support includes consultations with teachers, volunteers, and education seminars, and to collaborate with teachers and schools to integrate gardening and horticulture information into their classrooms or Instructional Plans.
Master Gardeners promote an appreciation of gardening, nature, and the environment with students.
Once the Extension Office or the MG School Garden Program receives a request for assistance, a Master Gardener will respond within 24-48 hours to follow up.
After the initial consult, conducted by phone, email or in-person visit, additional consults are available after the school signs a Memorandum of Understanding with the Master Gardener Volunteers of Cobb County.
